And Voila you can now install Mac OSX Leopard 10.5, and faster than a DVD install i might add. Start the machine while holding Option/ Alt until a menu shows up. The drive happened to be inserted in "USB1", so I typed Boot to this archive and the comments here, I was able to get Leopard up and running! It took a couple of weeks to figure out, so hopefully will save somebody some time. Plug the SATA drive inside the mac you want to install in, alongside the normal SATA drive already inside the machine. This is the boot drive.I put the flash drive was in the computer and booted it into Open Firmware by clicking option-command-O-F after the chime. Formatted the flash drive to Mac OS Extended (Journaled), and clicked on "Restore", using the iso file for the "restore from" option, and the flash drive as the destination. Note that this only works if you’re using an Intel Mac if you. However, we strongly recommend you upgrade to at least OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard or higher as Firefox 16 is no longer updated by Mozilla and therefore not secure anymore. I downloaded the ISO file onto my computer. If you’re using OS X 10.5.8 Leopard then you can still download Firefox 16 for Macs which works on 10.5.8. I clicked on "Erase", and the option for "Apple Partition Map" appears, and Mac OS Extended (Journaled), and ran that to format the drive. Using disk utility, I clicked on the new drive, then "View" and then "Show all devices". Just manually turn off the virtual machine. This will reboot the QEMU virtual machine back into the installer. I started with a new hard drive and formatted it using a Vantec IDE/SATA to USB 3.0 adapter (best $20 I've spent) on a mac running High Sierra. Instead open the 'Choose Startup Disk' utility from the 'Utilities' menu, click to select the volume to which you installed Mac OS X 10.5 (called 'Macintosh HD' by default), then click 'Restart.'.
